The centre-backs were again solid and reliable liberoes, and Little Harry was a whirlygig of commitment. But Giles Coke is a very good, very calm and unhurried old-fashioned midfield general. A masterclass in midfield
It is handy to have someone in charge who is calm, dignified and honest. Unlike a couple of soon to be ex-players:
"I'm angry... It'll be dealt with... We'll be taking action. It will remain private but will not be swept under the carpet"
Whilst remembering to remind everyone whose fault it really is and how long it has been festering:
"Things will be changing... we're behind the curve in so many aspects"
Things can only get better.
Was it Hale or Pace they sent out for the managerial mumblings? Whichever one it was glossed over the cracks in their ceiling with an audible shrug:
"All we can do is keep winning football matches and see where we end up."
This Town were no worse than that City, being generally in command and in control of this foreign field. This Town are the equal of anyone in defence and midfield. But we have nothing up top, we know that. Everyone knows that.
Town don't look bad now, just not good enough to win enough games.
And do we really need to say anything about Morais and Payne apart from goodbye?
The day started so well. We really are top of the crass.
Immensely mundane, with nothing beyond long limbs, long balls and long throws. Utterly dreary, without discernible style or character. Even their strikers were as useless as ours.

Such are the "fine margins" of football. If only this turquoise tweeter had been looking the other way at half time he'd have got a perfect 10.
