Mystic Mick's forecasts for 12 August

While researching this date, I discovered that not only was Norris McWhirter born on 12 August 1925, but another bloke called Ross McWhirter was born on the same day. Same birthdate, same surname, and get this - they both ended up working for the Guinness Book of Records. Kind of blows your mind, doesn't it. This day is also the anniversary of the PC and PC-DOS 1.0, introduced in 1981 by IBM. I should upgrade to that one day, I really should. GOTO20.

What advice do the stars have for the Mariners then? Tighten up the defence, perhaps? More communication? One reading has other ideas: "The astrological omens suggest you'll be most likely to thrive if you suspend all your spiritual theories and ideological opinions and become a pure channel for unconditional love. Try to hug at least 20 people. For extra credit, do 40." Sounds to me like a surefire way to get sent off.

Meanwhile, Da Juana reckons: "It is a good day to travel for pleasure." Interesting that she's picked up on it being an away match, but 'pleasure'? She's not been to Doncaster before, has she. But she continues: "This is a very lucky day for whatever you have in mind to accomplish". Where it's nice to see a bit of optimism, she is rather ignoring the facts - of three matches played on 12 August, Town have drawn 0-0 once, and lost the other two 2-1.

Perhaps there are some unusual tactics being tried out tomorrow night - another website warns us to "Prepare for some interesting changes as people begin to be more up front." An experimental 0-0-10 formation, maybe? I can see such attacking play being fruitful, yes, but dangerous too. Doncaster 2, Grimsby 3.
