Tips for 1-2 November - the result

So last week Mat handed over to Miles while he was away and Miles promptly handed a weekly win to Coco. It's amazing how easily he does that. Surely a gift. This week Mat was back at the helm aiming to his good ship Betting System towards the calmer waters of First Placed Lagoon, but for now he still has to navigate the stormy Sea of Second. It looks like the clouds are beginning to clear and the odd ray of sun occasionally peeks out from behind the grey skies, but there's always the chance of another squall just over the horizon. OK, that,s enough, I know. I'll leave that now, I'm getting seasick just thinking about it. Let's look at the bets placed this week instead.

Bet type Mat Stake Max return Coco Stake Max return
Perm 3 from 5 Man Utd, QPR, Chester, Celtic & Rangers

It was a good week for Mat despite the worries he expressed on Friday. He scored ten out of fifteen correct, and with four draws in the remaining five it could have been a lot better for him. Hull were the only team conceding a late goal that cost Mat this week. Macclesfield's 90th minute equaliser at the KFC Stadium cost Mat 50p. And speaking of money Mat's ten correct matches were arranged in a very orthodox 4,4,2 formation yielding £2.46, £1.64 and zip, £4.10 in total. So again, for the sixth week in a row, Mat fails to break the fiver and return a profit for the week. This week does mark a bit of an improvement though, it was Mat's highest return since 21st September, and 67 per cent is his best strike-rate since 7th September. It's good to see him with a better accuracy than last year's season-long record of 64 per cent too.

Coco slipped back to five matches correct this week, after dabbling with the heady heights of six last time around. His 33 per cent strike-rate was his lowest for three weeks too. Liverpool and Bury both won with late winners this week. Coco had draws for both matches, and the combined result of the goals from Danny Murphy and Lee Unsworth, who incidentally played together at Crewe, cost Coco £1.83. The five matches that were correct sat in a 1,1,3 formation making Coco 80p. I say making, but really it's a loss of £4.20. At least it's not a loss of the whole fiver, eh, Coco? Oh, and David Beharall better watch out. Fancy scoring two goals to earn your side a draw when Coco has your opponents to win? He's just lucky it didn't lose Coco any money.

So, as is clear, this week belongs to Mat once again. You really need to stop giving control to Miles, you know, Mat. Another week passes without profit for either of our combatants too.

Overall, Mat is £14.03 down, with a 58 per cent strike-rate, while Coco has slipped into the red, £1.59 down with a 38 per cent strike-rate. The chimp leads by £12.44. Following Miles' little blip little week Mat is back on track and is reeling Coco in. Any gamblers among you should still be putting money on 7th December as the date we see a change of leader.
