Tips for 3-4 April

I'm as busy as a bastard this week, as you'd fully appreciate if you knew what time it was as I write this. It's currently 2.30pm on Friday, a full five hours after I would normally start writing this tosh. This is not right, not right at all. I bloody hate work. It is evil and should be made illegal.

Talking of work, which I seem to be doing a lot recently, I had my appraisal this week. It was quite fun really. We do ours through an electronic tool these days, which is very modern. It has various sections that I have to fill in and then electronically sign. Then my boss gets to see it and comment on what I have written, then we both have to sign off his comments to indicate we are happy with them. We had a meeting the other day to discuss what he had written. He was a bit narked that I had written a whole section telling him how to do his job. It had to be done. I was pissed off when I filled my bits of the form in and he got both barrels as it were. It was all good, honest stuff though. I don't feel as though any of it was said out of turn or with malice, it was just honest feedback. And to be fair I slagged off the company as well, so he wasn't the only one who got abuse. He could tell I was in a bad mood when I completed the form though because I didn't raise any training needs. Apparently me writing "I refuse to open any training needs this time round because the ones I raised last time got ignored and then closed without consulting me" wasn't helpful, even if it was true, which it was as it happens. The long and short of it though is he thinks I am doing a very good job but I need to get work done in a more timely manner. Sometimes I have to just get work done and not necessarily to my own high personal standards apparently. I was tempted to say "Yeah, well you haven't seen the shite I produce for Cod Almighty every Friday morning have you?" but I think that is the whole idea.

Did you watch the footy on Wednesday? What a load of old shite eh? Not being content with wishing Nicky Law would leave his current managerial post I wish Sven would do the same. Both of them are really doing my head in. Law has Town playing unattractive long-ball football that hopefully will see us relegated. I say hopefully because if that happens then Law is bound to get the boot, we can get rid of a load of players who don't care about the club and we can rebuild from scratch, maybe even with Buckley in charge. As for Sven, all these pointless friendlies are doing my head in, especially given the daft number of substitutions. What are these games telling Sven about the team? We have no more idea now if Terry or Woodgate would be best alongside Campbell at the back because we haven't seen them together. Our prayers have been answered with Alan Thompson on the left of midfield though. We were all praying for a left-footer who disappears for long periods and doesn't swing in a cross from open play weren't we? It was a dreadful game contested (sort of) by two dreadful sides without an ounce of flair and invention between them.

Andy's back this week so it's back to normal, or as normal as this ever gets. He has provided my odds and sent me Coco's selections this week though. I think I beat Mystic Mick last week, quite convincingly too although I still didn't make a profit. I'm not sure what has gone wrong this season to be honest, I am really struggling to make any money on this football betting lark. I'm glad it's still virtual pounds that I am playing with. My own cash goes nowhere near these tips, it goes on the nags instead. I'm not sure if Andy has had a chance to update the tipping results yet so I have no real idea if Coco is ahead of me or not this season. I think the gap between us is quite small at the minute though. Let's have a look at what we are both relying on this weekend.

Mat Coco
Liverpool v Blackburn (558) 8/13 Motherwell v Rangers 3/1
Tottenham v Chelsea (-1046) 10/11 Halifax v Hereford 23/10

Doncaster v Bury (764) 1/2 Leyton Orient v Huddersfield 11/5
Mansfield v Cambridge (653) 8/13 Northampton v Oxford 6/5
Leyton Orient v Huddersfield (-625) 13/10 Burnley v Norwich 2/1
Kidderminster v Hull (-583) 1/1 Liverpool v Blackburn 9/2

Celtic v Hearts (2653) 2/9 Leigh RMI v Burton Albion 8/5
Motherwell v Rangers (-1459) 2/5 Southend v Scunthorpe 11/5

Hey, that's a lot of away wins in my list isn't it? A lot more than normal, I think but then again I don't really know how many are in a typical week's tips. I do know there are quite a few draws being predicted by Coco though. Enough of that small talk, let's get down to the business of the bets.

Bet type Mat Stake Max return Coco Stake Max return

Time to see how badly my system thinks Nicky Law will fuck it up this week. The match against the Wendys is rated at -184 so there is a 48.32% chance of it being an away win and Town taking another massive step towards relegation, especially as Stockport are down for a bloody win against Rushden. Chuffing arsecakes!

A funny thing happened to me at lunchtime. I was in the pub, obviously, and after my first pint of Abbot Ale I was forced to switch to Guinness. Not physically forced really but they had run out of Abbot Ale and I can't stand Youngs or Broadside so I went for Guinness. Halfway down my pint though I kind of lost the taste for it. I still drank it but it just didn't taste as good as I remember Guinness tasting. Perhaps I need to go out and get utterly shedded on it this weekend as some strange sort of therapy. The missus is going to Paris on a hen weekend so I could go out and get bollocksed and have a kebab without being tutted at. Or I could download College Fuckfest 10 and watch that I suppose. I bet I end up doing neither.

I've had enough now. It's nearly half four, my e-mail is shafted so this may not even get out to anyone who can make it live. It's a nice sunny afternoon and I'd rather be in a beer garden so I think that is where I am going. Bye.
