UPDATE: DUE TO DEMAND DRAW PUT BACK TO SATURDAY 28 DECEMBER

Cod Almighty's Simon Wilson and Mark Stilton, Mighty Mariner, the Grimsby Telegraph's Stuart Rowson and Radio Humberside's John Tondeur
On Wednesday 1 January Grimsby Town play Bradford City and will celebrate "Fans' Day". Organised by Cod Almighty with the support of the club, the Grimsby Telegraph and Radio Humberside the day promises to be something different and special.

What's the day about?
The idea is to get Mariners fans to dig a little bit deeper for their club and show their support in a way rarely seen throughout the world of football – as we, the fans, will be sponsoring the match. Fans' Day is for Grimsby and its fans to show their support for their local club.

In the lead up to the game you'll be able to take a chance to win prizes for the game itself. And on the day the club will be hosting a passionate day with a difference for the supporters of the club (more of which will be announced later...).

How do I help out?
Simple – buy a raffle ticket! For £5 you can buy a ticket and you will be entered into a draw for the chance to win one of a number of prizes. Think £5 is too much for yourself? Club together with some mates, the people at your pub, your workmates and see how much you gain raise from a whip round.

We only need to sell 500 tickets to cover the cost of the sponsorship – any extra money will go to the club's youth scheme.

Even better – we challenge people to actually sell tickets. We're trying to bring the whole community into this and if you feel you could sell a respectable number of tickets at your workplace or among your family and friends then we'd love to see you pitch in.

What if I don't win a prize?
Don't feel that just because you've not won a prize you've missed out – you're still a winner in the way you've contributed to your club. Your extra money has gone to helping secure your club's future.

What's Cod Almighty's got to gain from this?
Nothing! You can read about how this idea came to be in the about section. We're just a group of fans who have the chance to do something special and this fanzine makes an excellent focal point for that.

We're getting together as many people from the area to put a little bit of extra effort in. All those little extra bits will end in something special.
