It was nearly one of those weekends, and then it became one of THOSE weekends

"Three points is the main thing, shocking ground. Was a joke trying to see anything." So said my lads after making the trip to Kings Lynn.
We thought it was probably bad when John Tondeur kept mentioning how little of either goal he could see. I was originally disappointed not to be going yesterday but having heard from others who went and seen the photos posted on social media, it sounds like a dreadful experience. Being short, I probably wouldn't have seen a thing. That they charged Town fans £21 for this 'experience' is laughable. I can't blame the club for wanting to maximise income but suddenly releasing more tickets the day before the game was inept and doesn't strike me as a well-run, organised business. Tinpot claxon incoming! I won't be sorry to see them go down.
It sounded like a disjointed performance from us, but winning ugly is all I'm really bothered about for the next few weeks. Seeing a worldy would just be a bonus.
I can't be the only Town fan who has been searching "Arm and shoulder injuries" on t'internet. Also, what kind of splint/strapping can be worn whilst playing professional football. I have nothing definitive but McAtee's arm/shoulder is occupying a lot of my thoughts at the moment. It feels a bit like the "metatarsal" worries before World Cups many years ago but a thousand times more important. Whatever happens, others will step up and let's wish McAtee a (very) speedy recovery.
Let's get onto more positive stuff. Six massive points over the Easter weekend. I'll be honest with you, I would have been happy with four and we would still have been in the running, but six is just brilliant. Friday was a strange game. It started with the feel of one of those matches when we just do nothing but it burst into life with the sending off. Some suggested it wasn't a red, I beg to differ. It was reckless and in the Upper you heard the thwack as he clattered him. I imagine the ref heard it too and it probably influenced his decision. It definitely changed the game and I'm not sorry. We have had enough occasions when Town have lost out when refs have wimped out of making a decision. It was good to get one go our way for once.
And now for something completely different. Town have asked us to help the club become carbon neutral by recycling what we can in the ground. I think this is brilliant and good on the club for putting recycling bins around the place. We go in the Upper and apart from a black bag tied to the table near the food kiosk, we never see anywhere to dispose of rubbish, let alone a recycling bin. Once we've gone into the ground and, this season, bought our lunch, we never go back to the kiosk area. I think that's why most fans reluctantly leave a little pile of rubbish under their seat. Hopefully there will be something on the way down to the exit near the Pontoon end and I can start being more responsible. I'll certainly be looking out for it! UTM!
