A Tempestuous Sea of Misfortune

Here's your View From The Findus Wednesday diary exclusive - A Grimsby Town story is being made into a Hollywood blockbuster….
Groundhog Day 2 - the sequel to the 1993, Bill Murray-starring movie - started filming two months ago at Blundell Park. And now we can exclusively bring you the film's synopsis:
Every Saturday, the same nightmare unfolds. Grimsby Town, their fans full of hope, step onto the pitch, only to be met with the same fate: defeat. Walsall, Doncaster, MK Dons, Colchester - the list of tormentors grows longer.
Each week, the script seems identical. A promising start, missed opportunities, a defensive lapse and a late goal that seals the deal. It's as if the footballing gods have cursed the Mariners to relive the same day over and over again, trapped in a cycle of despair.
Like Bill Murray's character in the original film, the Grimsby players must break free from this time loop. Until then, the Mariners relive the same painful defeat, week after week. Can David Artell, the lead character in this horror comedy, find a way to rewrite the script and end the never-ending Saturday afternoon loop?
OK, alright…maybe I'm not Jack Spring after all.
But after a promising start to our home campaign, Blundell Park, once a vessel of hope and promise, has become a tempestuous sea of misfortune. Six consecutive home defeats have brought familiar themes to a Saturday afternoon.
The Mariners' decision-making, once a beacon of clarity, is now a flickering, uncertain light. Passes, once crisp and purposeful, now meander aimlessly, lost in the fog of doubt. Shots, once thunderous and true, now falter and miss their mark.
There's become a predictability in Grimsby Town's home performances: dominate a first half, not take advantage, give away sloppy goals. Lose a game of football.
This particular writer is still fully behind David Artell and the current crop of Grimsby Town players. But something has to give. We all know this Groundhog Day can only go on for so long. The same first half domination, the same daft defensive mistakes, the same lack of shots on target. The same result.
Who will be our Bill Murray and end this madness?
