Reports on local radio that a £500,000 tax bill could plunge the club into bankruptcy are denied by Peter Furneaux ahead of today's monthly board meeting. "The catchphrase that Grimsby Town are going bust is not new," said the chairman, "and I think it's time it was buried."

The official site reports that Arturo Bernhardt is being looked at by the club's management. Twenty years old, striker, been at Middlesbrough for a couple of seasons, signed from Hamburg, apparently Brazilian.
