Diary - Tuesday 26 November 2002
26 November 2002
Winter is here, and that doesn't just mean a load of postponed home games and the misappropriation of Christmas by consumer capitalism - it's also time for the yearly shenanigans in the Town boardroom. No sooner has the club announced that its annual general meeting will take place on 19 December than two directors resign their positions, Colin Graves and 'Cuddly' Dudley Ramsden presumably having already planned to spend the day shopping or something. Word on the street is that both men have sold their shares to fellow director John Fenty, and that Ramsden is to become 'life president' of the club. The Diary pledges to keep you informed to the best of its ability, gentle reader; but we gave up trying to understand all the politics about three years ago.
All of which carry-on could make for interesting listening in tonight's Radio Humberside phone-in featuring Messrs Furneaux and Groves. Listeners can also tune in via Town's official site to the broadcast, which kicks off - not literally, one would hope - at 7pm.
Paul Wilkinson's reserve side lose 1-0 away at Stockport this afternoon, but to be fair, the reserve team is becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish from the youth team. As is the first team, come to think of it.
