25 July 2012
Just a quick round-up today from your original/regular Diary, who has just been to the pub with Mardy Diary and is currently operating on a timescale around 41 hours behind BST.
Home > News > lincoln_city_tickets-266280. No, me neither. But once you've got past the stale breadcrumbs, Town's newly superb new official website (NSNOS) is here to tell us that Town will play Lincoln City in the final of the Lincolnshire County Cup next Tuesday. I thought it was the Lincolnshire Senior Cup, but there you go. The game kicks off at Sincil Bank at 7pm and will cost a refreshingly realistic six pounds to get in.
But how has this happened? It has happened because the Mariners won 2-0 by playing a 4-4-2 system over at Plucky Scunny last night, with goals from Louis Soares and Andy Cook, who were playing in a 4-4-2 system. "GRIMSBY Town's dream of repeating last season's Lincolnshire Senior Cup success is very much alive," gushes today's Grimsby Telegraph, presumably as a prelude to tomorrow's special edition reporting the sale of the first 24,000 tickets and carrying interviews with Liam Hearn about how gutted he is to miss out, what with having spent his boyhood in Nottinghamshire dreaming about playing in final of the Lincolnshire Senior Cup.
Home > News > keeper_to_sign-264494. Crikey, someone needs a bit more practice on the new content management system. Town have signed that Scottish keeper from Chesterfield who played in the friendly against King$ton Communication$ FC last weekend. Nobody's got a photo of him yet, so have a lovely picture of Shouty instead.
Once Town beat a team two divisions higher who don't have Tom Newey playing at centre-half, then you can get excited.
