Town resume their early-season habit of gifting late goals by letting Preston sneak two in the last five minutes to make it 3-3 at Blundell Park this afternoon. Debit where debit's due, however, for yet another shocking refereeing performance as doubts persist over all three of the visitors' goals. An early opportunist strike from Stuart Campbell is annulled just before half time with a dodgy '10 yards forward for dissent' call on a Preston free kick; while magnificent team goals by Simon Ford and Darren Mansaram are tragically cancelled out by an iffy penalty and a header assisted by climbing all over Alan Pouton. Youth team graduate Wes Parker makes a surprise debut at right-back ahead of Iain Ward, who is being 'rested'.
Members of the Cod Almighty team make it onto the pitch before kick-off for a photocall in advance of Fans' Day - more of which to follow next week, so stay tuned, Town pickers - and Mark Stilton is particularly favoured with a hug from Mighty Mariner.
