First-half goals at Stoke from Steve Livingstone - only his 50th in nine years with the Mariners - and a Stuart Campbell free-kick are enough for Town to leapfrog their hosts out of the bottom three. A Tommy Mooney penalty early in the second half gives the Potters hope but despite late pressure Town hang on for the three points. Rock and roll! Youth team prospects Wes Parker and David Soames make surprise appearances on the first-team bench - with Terry Cooke nowhere to be seen.
