Mardy Diary writes: That's nice, isn't it? It's nice to feel like this on a Monday. And Newport have even been kind enough to stick some extended highlights up on the web for all to see - nice camera work, too. The slow-motion replays are also useful so you can see for yourself how pointless and cynical their penalty appeals were. Ball to hand, people, ball to hand. And yes, they may have been given by another ref, but that doesn't mean they were valid.

What's also clear from those highlights is the amount of diving, appealing, ref-crowding and moaning that Newport did on Saturday. I felt at the match they were a bit cynical, but the highlights make them look even worse. Still, with an attitude like that it'll not be long before they find themselves in the League. They'll feel right at home among 'the likes of' Bradford.

In other news: everything is fine, just fine. Yep, it's all good, well, unless you're Dean Holdsworth, then maybe not so. But it is all good here - with the youthers making it a perfect weekend by progressing to the next round of the Alliance League Cup with a win over Wrexham.

And I don't think there's anything more to add is there, except to enjoy it while it lasts. Seeya.
