Match stats: Rochdale v Grimsby

Cod Almighty | Match Stats

Saturday 27 March 2010

Division 4

Rochdale 4 Thompson (17), Dagnall (20, 41, 90)

Grimsby Town 1 Chambers (43)

Attendance: 4724

Cod Almighty man of the match: Lee Peacock

A tricky one as there are no obvious candidates and it's largely a question of who did least worst. There weren't even any substitutes who could qualify, as they all looked suspect when they entered the field of play. Captain Peacock will collect this week's award: at least he looked the part.

Our gaffer says

"Nobody ever wants to lose games, but there are ways of losing games and to say I am angry and disappointed with the way we lost this one would be an understatement. Our supporters were superb, but we let them down."

Their gaffer says

"Chris [Dagnall] deserved his hat-trick and it was a special performance from him. It was a superb performance in general."

Official warning

Mr F Graham (Essex)
Just when we thought he was a bang-on homer, he goes and books O'Grady for the dive in the box. That was just a little giveaway, which no Daleite could make a fuss about when they had already won the game, just to make us think he wasn't a homer. You can't fool us that easily, Mr Graham. We'll give you a 3.
