A hard decision in a generally turgid game. Most of the midfield were not serious candidates, neither were North and Till. Hegarty looked lively and at least tried to find some grass to play on when he got the ball, although his crossing was poor. The winner though should come from one of the three centre backs given their effective handling of Wrexham’s threats, particularly in the opening period. It’s a close run thing, but I’ll go for Fenton.

"If you look at what Barnsey's had to do we've had a comfortable afternoon. The same can be said of their goalkeeper as well."

Awkward, stubborn, but not as outwardly desperate in their play as their league position suggests it could be. Brian Little isn't afraid to indulge in a little Buckley-esque early tinkering if he doesn't like what he sees from his team. We probably would have lost if the pitch wasn't so beachy

Not much to complain about, although we could have done without the bookings of Atkinson and Fenton. The game had a high foul tally, not because Mr Haines was picky, but because there were a high number of niggly little fouls. He irked the home fans more than us especially when he dismissed claims late in the game for a handball from Gary Jones. Mr Haines was not responsible for the poor game, nor for us being able to score. I’ll give him a 7.

A tough proposition given Wrexham's recent form, Town Dagenham nightmare, and the conditions. A gritty point earned rather than two points dropped.
