Mardy Diary writes: So what is a adductor tendon then? Or, as I like to call it, an adductor tendon. What it isn't is an abductor tendon, which is how I read it first time. Not that I know what an abductor tendon might be either.

According to a quick Google search thorough and painstaking research carried about by boffins in the CA science lab, it is the joint between the adductors and the pelvis. The adductors - as we all know - are the hip muscles, which form part of the thigh muscles. Which are connected to the leg muscles, the leg muscles are connected to the head muscles, you say tomato, let's call the whole thing off.

"But what does this all mean, you incoherent bastard?" I hear you all cry. Well, it means Del 'The New Yard Dog' Niven may not be out for as long as first anticipated, as the injury isn't the groin strain they initially expected it to be. How long he is out for, it is not yet clear, but some runner reckons they just put their feet up for a couple of days and all was well afterwards.

Obviously Niven's injury may be a bit more severe than that and footballers generally need to be a bit more careful than runners, on account of all the twisting they all apparently to do. There was none of that twisting in the old days - I particularly remember that Mark Smith never twisted or turned once, much preferring to just run in a long, straight line whether he had the ball or not. Proper footballers then, none of yer namby-pamby 'let's twist again' crowd of today.

Still, Scott says that they'll probably look to bring someone in anyway and they've made a few inquiries already but there's nothing happening at the moment. Which probably means we'll sign another striker about five minutes after I've written this.

All of this is an aside to the main event this weekend, which is thinking about Wembley the really important game against Kidderminster. I've heard a lot of people say 'forget about Wembley' and concentrate on the match this weekend, which is perhaps a valid request if levelled at the players. However, I'd just like to say to any fans out there with fair to moderate memories that you're more than welcome to think about Wembley and pay attention to the game this weekend.

Some people just don't want you to have any fun, eh? Have a good weekend.
