Diary - Wednesday 24 April 2013

24 April 2013

Just a quick one today, as your Iridescent Diary hurriedly prepares for this evening's epoch-defining play-off semi-final against Newport County. Lucky Town scarf? Check. Lucky pants? Check. Lucky sparkly purple eyeliner? Oh, it'll be around somewhere.

The overriding message coming through, in the run-up to the game, is that last Saturday will mean nothing. Both the Town management and Newport boss Justin Edinburgh have emphasised that the result last weekend can have no bearing on tonight's. This evening's opponents, of course, visited Blundell Park just four days ago in the final game of the regular league season and took a pasting which was arguably more emphatic than the 3-0 scoreline suggests. But County were resting players, and Town were still nursing some of their injury victims back to health. So let there be no doubt. We will see two different sides tonight. Last Saturday will mean nothing.

Yeah, but still... LIAM HEEEEEEAARRRRRRRRNNNNN!
