Mark Gray is one of Woods' youth team alumni and was given a squad number as soon as that rascal Mike Newell left the building last autumn.

Gray was the captain for the youths last season, which is a bit scary when you look at him, because he appears to have the body of a 28-year-old brickie. He might struggle to get first-team action this season with four experienced pros in front of him in the pecking order, but, knowing Town, there'll be some kind of injury crisis during the season, and he'll get a run-out.

Woods probably knows Gray better than most of his first team at the moment, so file under: one for the future.
