Player profiles: Terry Barwick

Terry Barwick (pronounced 'Bar-wick' and not 'Barrick', contrary to Mr Stilton's claims) has a shorter player profile on Town's official website than even Jermaine Palmer's. In this brief biog, we learn that Terry has a 'never say die' attitude. This is fine during matches, but a bit of a drawback when people ask him what the singular of 'dice' is. Or if he knows the German feminine definite article. Or if he can name a popular name for boys in Wales.

With three starts and eight further appearances as sub last season, Barwick has hardly had chance to set the place alight; those who've seen him play report that he's not likely to either, but hey, he's still a handy player to have around to make up the numbers when most of our squad are injured (i.e. most of the time).

There's another reason to have Terry in the team - he's a good luck charm: the 11 matches he took part in for Town last year resulted in seven wins, three draws and only one defeat. Two of the wins were against Derby and Spurs.

Despite having nearly every match he touched turn to gold, Talisman Terry was farmed out to York for a month last season which seemed pointless for his career, and virtually pointless for York too, who lost three of the four matches he played in.

This season, Barwick finds himself in the fortunate position of being in a squad with hardly any players, so he's bound to get a few games. It's his big chance to show us all what he can do. My prediction is that he'll play in nearly every match and finish the season as top scorer.
