Steady, reliable and marching on towards his 600th appearance for the Mariners, Macca has become a mainstay at right back since the last 80s.

Recently age seems to have caught up for Mr Dependable as he's missed a few games through niggly injuries, but when he's in the team Macca provides a good show in the art of defending.

He rarely seems to tackle but it's very rare for a player to get the better of the great man. Is it his reading of the game? Maybe it's the way he seems to shephard a player away from his flank? His passing is assured, neat, tidy. You'll struggle to find a better full back going forward. His crossing is smart. And when he gets the chance he can really smack a shot in.

Rare in this day and age to find a player spend his whole career at one club, it is a constant wonder how Macca's talents were not allowed to grace a stage bigger than that of Blundell Park. But thankful we are to his loyalty. The man is a legend.
