Bullet in the 'heed

2 May 2014

Hello! It's your in-a-rush and between meetings Mardy Diary here, scoffing a sarnie and feeling good about the ol' footy again.

Town were bloody marvellous last night, let's be fair, bloody great. Yes, they made a mistake early on (good finish from the Gateshead chap, mind) but as with earlier in the season they kept their heads up and then raised their game. Then raised it another notch. This was some serious game-raising shit. These boys showed they're up for the big games, for the games that matter.

I was worried for a second when Hannah and Thomas decided to have a bit of a shout at each other. Then I thought: if this was a November nothing game then I'd be worried about team morale and all that. But it wasn't - it was an important game. Both Hannah and Thomas should get angry about it, as long as it doesn't end up in a Rees/Watson style punch-up. Besides, Pearson usually spends every match shouting at everybody.

So on to Sunday then. I'm going, seat two miles from the pitch or not. We can still make a noise. I feel confident. Town feel confident. And Gateshead seemed really happy last night so I can only assume they're looking forward to watching their goal get peppered with shots again. Strange lot.

I've got to dash now and I've not really had chance to say everything I wanted so let's leave it at this: up the bleedin' Mariners. We can do this. We will do this.
