Everyone's saying that your ambition broke Carver's leg

Trentside Diary writes: Phew, that's feeling marginally better. Those of us who fear a return to the lower echelons of football (I'm making a huge assumption here that there are some who never entertain this fear who aren't related by blood or marriage to Fenty or Slade) may be breathing a little easier after the last two performances and a useful six points.
This doesn't mean for one minute that I am any happier with the ownership or management of our club, just that I'm not sure we could crawl back again if we went down again. Last time we did it with Operation Promotion but that love has slowly ebbed away.
If Fenty has ambition and a plan for our club then perhaps it would help if he articulated it. That's not just "we need a new stadium to do anything" (I'm paraphrasing) or getting his new cheerleader at Extreme Leisure, Stella, to let us all know how marvellous he is. He could take us all on: "Bring it on". Please don't ask him to write it down though, or he might be tempted to take to the Fishy.
Non-League was always clear: we had to get back into the Football League. But what now? Perhaps the fans' forum will provide some answers.
I'm fairly sure, in the depths of my memory, that some years ago the non-chairman said he'd had enough and wanted to sell the club. Maybe he's changed his mind, but I would like to know exactly how much the non-chairman wants for his shares and what he means by "benign" loans. We have a wealth of talent in our fanbase. We could be a self-sustaining, fan-owned club. A fan-run club would not be releasing embarrassing club statements like those of late and would represent the views of the majority rather than going with the flow of other clubs.
Anyway, enough of the negative/realistic stuff. I have a conundrum. We always have two things on the wall in our kitchen. A Spurs calendar as a concession to family born in north London, and a GTFC clock. I have ordered a non-League food calendar from the pie man on Sneinton market. This is an excellent summary of the food at non/lower-League grounds visited by the pie man and his mates. They rate the food and a hot drink as below (thanks to the pie man).
This is all good but then where could I put my Official Unofficial GTFC 2018 Calendar? I had thought the downstairs loo but then thought it would be a bit unnerving and I certainly don't want to be looking at April ever again. So I'll have to use the time over next weekend when I would usually be at a match to think about that one. Just when we may have hit some form, we have no match on Saturday. That is frustrating for us but it must be equally frustrating for the team. When things seem to have clicked, you're kicking your heels for two weeks.
Don't forget the fans' forum tomorrow night. UTM!
