Cod Almighty | Diary
Will iFollow take the strain?
23 April 2020
News? We are still in lockdown. The official site is still playing highlights of old games. And Cod Almighty is still churning out diaries.
We probably ought to discuss regionalising the lower divisions: it is a really bad idea. There done.
Instead we'll hand over today's diary to reader Ann Allen. She responded to Tuesday's diary which discussed offering free match passes to iFollow for season ticket holders if the league resumes behind closed doors. From Ann's experience, it isn't quite the get out of jail card Casual Diary suggested it might be.
"I am a season ticket holder and subscribe to iFollow.
"I would accept a discount on my next season ticket rather than a refund as I would think that the income from season tickets was spent earlier in the season anyway. However despite Philip Day getting assurances from the Football League regarding iFollow I have my reservations.
"I have not managed to watch a full live game before the lockdown because of constant buffering. The live replays which have been broadcast since have been even worse. They only play for 20 minutes at a time and then go back to the beginning, including adverts, and this is watching them at a later time. I contacted iFollow help, and cleared data as they recommended, but it has not helped.
"I despair that this system will be any different when more people are logging on at the same time."
Thanks Ann.
