Cod Almighty man of the match: Mattie Pollock

Shall we just save time and alternate between Waterfall and Mattie Pollock? The boy was the stopper, the starter and a lot smarter than our very average bugbears elsewhere in the team.

Our gaffer says

Mmm, populists always try to tell you black is white, white is black and what you see before your eyes in black and white is really in sparkling technicolour. The Grimsby grumbler rather overlooked the fact that we'd had the ball all night and done nothing with it.

"For my team, I'm delighted with that, but what I'm saying to the referee is how many times did we have to go and get the ball? It's a lot more than three minutes at the end there."

Their gaffer says

Cooperman shrugged and went home to his begonias muttering:

"We kept kicking the balls out of the ground tonight, which isn't like us – it wasn't tactical."

Us

Where's the Hollow One leading us? One step sideways, two steps back to Jolleyworld.

Purposeless possession, passionless plodding and utterly pointless in every way. Again three at the back left holes that led to goals. There is nothing beyond a perfectly adequate defence, just a collection of small furry animals. There is no midfield. Hanson is not fitted to the roving, perma-pressing pivot role, and he probably isn't fit. The G-Plan failed as it is made out of chipboard and chewing gum.

This Town just looked non-League. Very non-League.

Them

They're a competent fourth division team. Nothing more, nothing less. They beat nothing. There's nothing more to say.

Official warning

Mr J Adcock

His presence was required and he turned up on time. Well done. Beyond that he admitted an early error, and he didn't cause any terrors, merely the occasional bafflement: 6.998, with time off for good behaviour.
