Inflatables at Barnet, Wigs at Woking, we make our own fun thank you.

Trentside Diary writes: Nights are pulling in and home games are coming at us thick and fast; well, there's another one on Saturday. Barnet. A noteworthy away game in recent years with inflatables, inflatable bans and a mariachi band but the only memorable thing I can recall about playing them at home was Edgar Davids stepping out in their colours a few years ago.
I love a decent player extending their career at a "smaller" club, maybe taking a player-manager role. Too many don't have a realistic view of their own ability and think they should go straight into management in the top two tiers of the game. How wrong they often turn out to be. I would have loved Ivano to have had more time at Town as it seemed he wanted. Who knows how that might have turned out?
I'm still smarting from a dose of realism moment I had at the weekend. With a new TV box installed I had to start re-setting up programmes we were recording. Skimming through the what's on screens on Saturday evening it hit me again that I have no interest in EFL on Quest.
It seems that only BT have the rights to non-League games and highlights. If last weekend is anything to go by, BT are only going to show them when they're in the mood. How absolutely frustrating/ridiculous/short-sighted is that? It might have been the briefest of glimpses of any goals last season but at least we could see them on the evening of the match. Now it seems, not only might BT not be bothered with broadcasting anything, there is a contractual delay until Town can release their own highlights. Remember that when they are claiming to love "grass-roots" football. They really couldn't give a stuff, we're just cheap filler for when they haven’t anything better to show!
I just hope they don't send one of their pundits into the crowd to try to be all matey and fun like Premier Sports did in our earlier non-League incarnation. I seem to recollect an over-excited former Blue Peter presenter. Do I remember right?
