There's a ghost, the ghost of your memories.

Trentside Diary writes: Do you ever have that feeling you've missed something? You've cocked up your diary and forgotten where you should be today? That's the current state of my head and so I apologise if anything I say makes no sense whatsoever.

It started with me being convinced that there was a Town match tonight. I've checked the fixtures three times and it's still nagging at the back of my brain. Aha, a pizza trophy game? Nope, not us. Is there such thing as a ghost match? Where Sidney Wheelhouse crosses to Pat Glover for a bullet header. That would get the Town historians drooling. I know, I know they didn't play at the same time. It's a ghost ship, remember?

Anyway, no game so what else Town is there to occupy me? Ryan Bennett, Gordon's little brother. There's been much speculation after it was confirmed that he's training with Town at the moment. Would I have him back? He's a decent player, so why not? The upside of him training with us is Hurst will know how he gels with the squad; if he fits in personally and tactically, then why not go for it.

The amazing support we have for our club means we've already sold the initial allocation of 1,007 tickets for Stockport away but there are more tickets whizzing down the M62 as I type. We must be a real cash-cow for opposition clubs. There are a few who bring a decent crowd to Blundell Park, and it's definitely better than non-League, but not many match us.

In old news, I was happy to see the suggestion that Saturday games should be shifted to an earlier start time ruled out. Not for any romantic notion of Saturday 3pm is when we play the game, but more because we all have our routines that are ingrained and juggling the change might put a few off. For those working Saturday mornings, going to the game could be impossible. Earlier starts for away games could well mean more overnight stays which would be expensive for fans when times are tight already. You might feel differently but, hey, any significant change should be backed up by an overwhelming argument in favour. I'm sure some bright spark will have costed it out.

I've checked again. Definitely no game tonight, so I'll see you Saturday.

UTM!
