All a bit flat, but it's a dip not an avalanche

1 November 2022

Pinch, punch first of the month and all that. Should we do 'white rabbits' too? Fourth calendar month of this season and about a third of the way through our games. All feels a bit flat at the moment, doesn't it? Won six, drawn five and lost five. It's hard not to get totally fed up when we've had two poor performances after the joy that was the Bradford City game. Not sure why we're surprised.

We've been Town fans for long enough to know every year has its fallow periods, sometimes lasting months. Last season at this stage we were just into that poor run that threatened any chance of promotion out of non-League. We know how that turned out! Utterly frustrating again at the moment but we've had a decent start, shown we can play well at this level and hopefully this is a short blip.

I had a quick look at the Town ticket site for this Saturday's FA Cup game. There are still quite a few tickets available, or there were at the time I checked. We've passed the deadline for season ticket holders to secure their seats, so if you're interested, get online or down to the ticket office.

As season ticket holders, we get to most home league games and a few away if we can. I'll be honest, another £22 each, plus food, petrol and dog walker because it's a long day, just adds up. We're going to have to give it a miss. Part-time supporter? If you like, but we won't be the only ones. I'm not sure what the rules are around pricing for FA Cup tickets but it can seem a lot and I hope that enough people are able to go for a good atmosphere. At least it's a chance for a few more of the fans who don't have a season ticket to attend and get a good seat. Always a silver lining!

Anyway, no game tonight so I'm off to complete my fan survey.

UTM!
