Diary - Tuesday 5 October 2004
5 October 2004
Don't breathe a word to my image-conscious sibling, part-time Mariners supporter Little Brother Diary, that our obsession with the club extends to an interest in the reserves and youth team, but there really isn't much else worth reporting on today, and so it is my sacred and beholden duty to remind you that Town's second string travel to Boston this evening at roughly the same time as the kids host Swindon in a competition that GTFC's official website swears blind is called the Midlands Floodlight Cup. With the Dutchman Who Didn't having presumably departed the North East Lincs area some time ago, there is not even the possibility of the stiffs' clash being enlivened by the non-appearance of a foreign trialist, although Rob 'No, Not That One' Jones continues his rehabilitation from knee stuff at York Street.
So if I were you I'd tootle along to BP for a glance at the future of the club - no, not Simon Ramsden - as it is only two quid to get in and there's not a whole lot else to do on a gloomy Tuesday in October. The Grimsby Telegraph has beaten Town's official site to the publication of the line-ups, but unfortunately duplicates the OS's recent misspelling of Clint 'Marcel' Marcelle's surname. What does beholden mean anyway?
