Mike Newell writes: "I've never experienced a period like this - it's been much the same since I took over last October. Too many people in and around the club accept defeat too easily - it's like a losing mentality.

"Look at the way we've started and yet there's been very little backlash from fans. I expect to get flak and for people to call for my head but it's hardly happened.

"I read a letter in the paper about the record over the last 10 years and how the club has only finished above 15th place once in the last 10 seasons. That is completely unacceptable but it's as if that has led to people accepting a poor run - it's like they feel, because of the last few seasons, the start this season is to be expected.

"Well I'm not about to accept it - it's something that's been annoying me for some time and I'm determined to change this attitude around the place. I don't want anyone to accept us losing games and being in the position we are - either inside or outside of the club. I don't accept it so why should anyone else.

"I'm not here to be Mr Nice Guy, I'm here to do a job and I'm determined to change this attitude. I'm fed up with shaking hands with opposition managers and saying 'well done' every week.

"Everyone needs to aim higher if the club is to get out of this rut. If that increases pressure on me to get results then that's fine - that's what my job is all about. People should have higher demands - this recent record in the last decade needs to end."

Now that is what I call a ReNewell campaign.
