Diary - Thursday 6 June 2013

6 June 2013

Yesterday, you might recall, your original/regular Diary was completely fed up with football. Today the situation has changed entirely. I'm still completely fed up with football. But at least Bolton Wanderers have changed their minds about being sponsored by a payday loan company.

Rob Scott is perhaps to subtlety as Alan Shearer is to insightful punditry. But the other of the Grimsby Town managers is in the Grimsby Telegraph today talking about the Shorty Shouty Softly Softly approach to player recruitment. Basically it's the whole "OK, so Cambridge/Mansfield/Kidderminster/whoever have signed about 18 players in the last two days, but they're all rubbish really, we'll get ours later after we've been on holiday, just shut up and renew your season ticket" spiel.

There's also something today about Andi Thanoj playing for Albania under-21s again. I think it would be fun if 2,000 Town fans turned up at one of these Albania matches one day and made a bloody great racket for the whole 90 minutes. The excellent young GTFC midfielder could very well add to his one cap against Hungary tomorrow and Bosnia & Herzegovina next Tuesday. Both games are u21 European Championship qualifiers. I dunno, these bleedin' immigrants, coming over here and being actually any good at football.

That's yer lot. Go on, get off the internet and get some bloody sunshine.
