Check out my blueprints

Morning all, London Diary here with a round-up of what’s going on this fine Thursday. Well, not a lot seems to be the consensus. There’s an article in the Telewag where a player who is playing well talks to the paper about playing well and that the team aim to play better than they are playing at the moment. Sadly no mention of 110 per cent. Come on mate, you’re a footballer. Anyway, I’m not putting a link to it: you've got the picture.
People still banging on about BP being depressing. I’m not going to talk about that specific article as I don’t want to add any more hits to their page. But I’d like to chat about Blundell Park and its future. You don’t care? Wel, I’ve got a page to fill, and fill it is what I’m gonna do, mate.
Now, there are plans to move the home of Grimsby Town (currently in Cleethorpes) to various parts of North East Lincolnshire; talk of some grass by a long road and other plans to neighbour a cemetery next to another long road. I’m not usually in the ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ camp, especially as BP is a little bit broken. But I’m very much in the ‘I absolutely love Blundell Park’ camp.
In an ideal world, what I’d do when I’m dictator, sorry, chairman, is give BP a good old revamp. I’m not talking a lick of paint and some fairy lights, although we will need some paint and who doesn’t love fairy lights? I’m talking about adding corners to the stadiums to make it look like a stadium, some new seats, revamp the bars, get rid of the wood panelling in the boardroom.
‘What about the situation with the parking?’ Got that sorted, pal - I’m going to buy some of that land the other side of the train tracks by that big factory and have a car park right there by the stadium. I might build a bridge or a subway linking the two (could have a bridge for going to the stadium and a subway for going to the carpark to reduce bottlenecks? Just a thought), I’ve not yet got to that level of detail, but there will be a car park. ‘How do the cars get over the train tracks?’ Did I mention the fairy lights?
Think about it - when at this new stadium by the long road, you won’t be able to look at the various ships plodding along the North Sea. It won’t be as cold. You have a choice of roughly five fish and chip shops down Grimsby Road; the cemetery doesn't even have a coffee shop. You won’t be able to go to the Rutland before the game. So, add some corners, maybe get some new seats, do the bars up and all of a sudden we’ve got a new ground. Obviously I’m only in the early stages of sorting Blundell Park’s renaissance, but stick with me and I’ll have it sorted by the end of the year. Vote for me, I really need this.
Anyway, I’m off to sort this hangover out, though to be fair, looking back at what I’ve just written, I could still be drunk. UTM! TTFN.
