Fight for your right to bring something to the party

10 October 2013

Hello, and welcome to Thursday with me, Major Shareholder Diary. If you have come through to the wrong department, press 1.

As some of yourselves have born witness, Major Shareholder Diary is always ready to communicate. This week I've been to the table to compare notes with many supporters of this football club. We all know these haven't been the happiest of times. I don't like the way you behave. But I absolutely believe everyone in the building is finally singing from the same chapter at this time.

One of the topics that came up for communication this week was the new stadium. Now we know this is a hot potato that's been in the oven for longer than it should. It's become a bit too chewy and almost black in places. If you try to eat it with a plastic fork, the plastic fork will most probably snap in your hand. But a cocktail of people have come to the table to forward this potato. Let me say that if the stadium plans are deconstructed then it will not be for the want of due process.

Another item many of yourselves have communicated is the playing budgetaries. Let me say that there is a considerable weight of worth. My commitment is ongoing. I've said many times. The playing budgetaries will not hold this club to ransom. We will give the manager or managers every request they ask for. There is no bottomless pocket. The budgetaries must and have to cascade online and on track in any way, shape or form. Ritchie Edwards is in the building until January.

Next behooves the question of Major Shareholder Diary's major shareholding and the position of the supporters' trust. My commitment is ongoing. I am absolutely ready to sell. A block of funding remains under the table while the trust is regarding due process and yourselves need not worry the formalities. The Mike Scott situation is ongoing. A transfer of shares was necessary to entertain the ombudsman.

Lastly, I have to let me say, I am extremely disappointed by the some supporters – and let me say, it is the some supporters and perhaps reporters – every time we make a statement, I'll tell you what they do, they pick between the lines. I don't know what people are looking for. They blow up and they pick between the lines. I've said many times.

I trust that clarifies the matters.

So until the next appearance of Major Shareholder Diary, let's rally round some football fortune in the building. Without it the imposition to myself and my fellow directors will be extremely impractical.
