Another badge for your trunks
22 January 2014
May your London Diary be the first diary to congratulate our solo manager Paul Hurst on passing his UEFA A coaching badge, which means on paper, he's very, very qualified. If I ever got a UEFA A coaching badge, I think I'd sew it on to my jacket to try and intimidate the other managers. I think that is one of many reasons as to why I'm not a professional football manager.
Nice little boost for the team, though, knowing that they have a man who knows what he's doing at the helm. Obviously this makes him more attractive to higher clubs where you need a UEFA A coaching badge, and you need your badges, guys. But I have faith in our gaffer. He likes us and we like him. It's like if your girlfriend (or boyfriend) got a boob job, and all of a sudden the more attractive boys would start looking at her. Try your luck, lads, but you’ll never have that magical night in Scunthorpe like me and our Paul/Paula did, so stay away from him/her/Hurst.
Why didn't Town play last night? We probably could have. Anyone know why? Some other teams did and they lost, which is good for us. One other team did and then won, but whatever. I know we should be concentrating on our games but it's nice to have a little look around, isn't it? Remember: mirror, signal, manoeuvre.
Last week I asked if you knew what the last Grimsby Town game was that was abandoned before the Forest Green game. Seems that the consensus was the game against… well, nobody really knows for sure and I scanned the SNOS, but to no avail. I will get an answer though, and I will tell you all.
Another slow news day again. We haven't signed a player for ages. BOO! HISS! COME ON HURSTSTS USE YOUR BADGE MATE. Jokes. Man Utd are about to sign a player, apparently, but that means nothing to us. I've started planning my trip to Cambridge on Tuesday already. Should be a good game. I hope we don't get stuffed. I remember it being freezing last year so I might pop out to Asda and get some long johns, though the tennis is on the TV, so I might watch that. Join me, bring some Maltesers. Here's hoping for a juicy GTFC gossip day tomorrow. See ya!
