New year, new letters
3 January 2016
Just before Christmas, we published Andy Freeman's tale of the Main Stand. This is what you thought.
Magnificent
That was simply magnificent. It's hard to comment on something that sums up our club and the town itself so perfectly. I don't think there's another building/structure which happens to be both underwhelming and overwhelming like the Main Stand. I'd hate to see it go.
Also nice to see Havelock Concert Brass mentioned as I played for the band for a few years in the 80s. In fact I missed Live Aid because I was playing at two concerts in Hull on the day. Did the author also play?

Simply brilliant
Simply brilliant... evokes all kind of memories from another Main Stander - 25 continuous seasons now.
Another example of a Town fan able to share thoughts and memories using the written word. Long may it continue.

Excellent
Another excellent article in Cod Almighty. It mirrors my own enjoyment in not only watching the game but watching the watchers and the grounds; these days, only occasionally, from a halfway-line vantage point with other knowledgeable codgers.
I live in distant Chester. My first Mariners game was in the late fifties with my Dad, while on holiday, against Leyton Orient. Aah! A 7 -2 win with Ron Rafferty, Johnny Scott, Mike Cullen Jimmy Fell, Keith Jobling et al. I was smitten & have been a fan ever since.

Wonderful
What a season for writers. I look forward to the blogs and match reports as much as I do the game.
I can name George Kerr's promotion teams and Buckley's 98/99 team and I'll remember Paul Hurst's 2016 team. I now fancy some succulent, pure haddock. Golden age indeed. Wonderful, well done and thank you. (Tear wiped away)

Happy New Year
As usual, The Diary has been a regular source of news and entertainment in 2015. I take my hat off to you guys (and gals).
I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and and a promotional New Year. Not in the advertising sense of course. Keep up the good work with Cod Almighty.
Best wishes
from Sibbo
Letters Ed responds: Thanks Sibbo, and our best wishes for 2016 to all of you.
