You know your stripper from your paint

We all hate losing but losing the game before a cup weekend is a big no-no. A NO-NO. There are wrongs to be righted, no one wants to wait a couple of weeks. Unlike Daubney Diary, Town aren't letting the weekend defeat get them down. They know they can't control the outcome when as Retro Diary so memorably described, the "...ball will be guided inexpertly, and nervously, around the pitch by Conference footballers – it could go anywhere. There will be a strong element of chance. We need the charity of the gods, just for one, measly, short, trifling spring afternoon. Please." Ok, a bit dramatic for a game in October but I need very little excuse to link to one of my favourite diaries. Read the bit about the schools without getting shivers, I dare ya.
Yes, where were we. Saturday's programme contained something GTFC can control. The club presented their Vision and Values with input from, among others, CA contributor Rich Lord, a man so committed to nominative determinism he has doubled down with the Twitter name @RichMariner.
Thanks Hannah. It was an absolute privilege to work with @jstockwood @DebbieCGF Andrew Pettit and so many others to define and articulate the club’s Vision & Values in this way. Such an exciting project to have been involved in, setting a strong foundation for #gtfc’s futurehttps://t.co/xOlciZQp7Y

It's alright if you didn't get a programme on Saturday (well it isn't, you should be buying one as they're ace, especially the retro covers) because these Vision and Values are being published one by one on the official site. So far we've had Philosophy and Vision. Now, Daubney Diary has been known to be cynical about stuff like this. But that's when it comes from a mobile phone company or a car brand trying to pretend to care about you in order to flog you some old shite you don't need and can't afford.
When applied to important stuff like people and the community, the words, if and when backed up with actions, can't fail to inspire and excite you about the future. Not just for Town but the entire area. Dramatic again? Not when you consider the existing Memories sessions at the club or great initiatives like this one from GT SET:

This short therapy session almost made me forget about the football. Thankfully for those who want to focus on the weekend, our battle-hardened match reporter Tony Butcher is made of sterner stuff. He's compiled our Rough Guide to Kidderminster. Need more? The GTFC Nicknames page is coming along nicely. We want to hear your suggestions and short bios where possible so get them in. See ya.
