Badge-gate? No, sausage-gate

Regular reader Ian Jackson takes issue with BOTB's sausage shop story
The parable of the sausage shop
OK, OK, the parable of the sausage shop. Jeez (sorry for blaspheming), it was like a 1970s sermon I used to have to listen to at St Hughs church, Haycroft Street, near the Longship pub (RIP), just off the railway line and subway and next to an old textile cleaning business back in the day.
I think I know which way to take it, in a less prosaic way, I think you suggest false eyelashes, bit of fake tan but still the same old person (insert whatever gender and images that conjures up for you, in the modern world I don't not feel safe using old fashioned clichés) underneath.
Let's just agree to agree that football is frustrating, that building a team has many inputs and very few successful outputs (and isn't time dependent in the way of continued improvement). That being content to purvey mediocrity leads to stagnation and lack of ambition to improve?
But as a history lesson or religious caution goes, can we also be aware of those who have overspent beyond their means or sold their homes but spent the proceeds leaving them homeless? Debt isn't always good if they come knocking for it to be paid back, and that many a person will take a wage on false pretenses and have no loyalty of emotional attachment if they leave, paid up, to a club that no longer exists.
