Sea, sun, sangria, tapas and togger
13 June 2023
Woohoo. I had a Blundell Park moment yesterday when I called in to collect my season thingy. For those of you living locally this may raise very little excitement, but for us exiles it's a moment to savour. Like a decent bit of haddock. A little chat with Lovely Lisa in the office and I feel ready to go again. Fixture release next week? Bring it on!
If you haven't already made plans for the summer and have some spare cash, you still have time to organise a little trip to Alicante to see the Mariners in action. Sea, sun, sangria, tapas and togger; what more could you ask for? And what an amazing bonding opportunity for any new signings. If you're not able to jet off, Grimsby Borough and Cleethorpes Town will be fun too and tickets are already on sale.
Talking of signings, I keep hearing rumours of those coming in and speculation of those who may be going. Let me make it very clear here. I have no more insider knowledge than the next Mariner. I would be disappointed to see Anthony Glennon go but if Swansea City or Preston North End genuinely are interested in signing him, I wouldn't have thought the club would stand in his way. At least with a year on his contract there would be a fee involved. The speculation that Ryan Bennett might return is exciting and it would just be spectacular if it happened.
UTM!
